Just Think about it....

There is so much to say since the last post was a while ago due to difficulties with my app. We've visited many little communities since then most having no shelters or the bare minimum of services for people who are homeless or low income. This is a saddening situation, these people end up trying to find services on their own and no where to turn to help them. For the most part, small communities have food bank mostly operated by churches but still no place to sleep.
We've met an amazing community in Napanee working all together to try to get more services for the people who are homeless in their community. It was an amazing experience to meet with the MorningStar Mission and see the amazing work they are doing there. They serve meals many times a week and are pushing to get more people involved in order to open more facilities for these people.
Any communities should work together and try to push for more in their town. It's by working all together that things will change. In Kingston, we've talked to the St.Vincent de Paul centre who serve meals, give free clothes and foods as well as referring them to proper services if needed. But their facilities are small and I'm sure they would be happy to get a bigger place to accommodate more people. That's where the help of everyone in the community is needed, volunteer even one hour a week or get things rolling for them to get more funding, bigger accommodations... use your networking skills. If everyone would do just a little action everyday those organizations would operate way better and would help a lot more people.
Think about this next time you sit in front of your TV watching Netflix, eating your favorite meal... you have it easy they don't, give them some hope by giving your time or donations.
